digitalFLARE: Sherazard Site Creation The Schala image on the layout is drawn by Madolin Peek and was modified in Adobe Photoshop. The full image is found in the gallery. The textures are courtesy of Magic Box and brushes are from VBRUSH. Sources All content here has been written by me. Some sprites and screencaptures were made by me, those that weren't are taken from emulated CT. Violet also took some captures for the shrine. MP3s are all encoded by me unless they're the fan made remixes. Scans from the CC artbook are from Karsh. Everything else is credited as appropriate. Special Thanks Most thanks goes to Karsh for scanning in various shots from the CC Artbook so I can see the captions, figure stuff out and use it on the shrine! More thanks to Masa for translating some parts of it too! Thanks to the members of Digital Flare and RageOfDark for straightening out some of the brain breaking story crap one comes across while playing CC. Especially Janus for helping with CT details. Also thanks to the owner of Chrono Compendium for answering some old questions at FFO. Where's the Magus and Schala ending in CT? Around the release of CC, there was an Endings Guide that contained rumored endings along with the existing ones. A 'Magus and Schala' ending was supposedly possible by "Arrive in Zeal, but don't see the scene where Schala opens the seal on the door, fight Lavos." and there was no script. It turns out this ending is only a rumor and you get the 'Slideshow' comedic ending where Crono talks. Why Schala? I must have replayed CT 30+ times and haven't gotten tired nor have I fully done every little thing in it. I still replay it to this day. Ever since I first saw Schala, back in 1995 (I was lucky and got a copy 'before it was out' because of my older brother's connections), she was a huge favorite of mine, as was the whole Zeal Kingdom part of the game. Her sprite was really pretty and she was a kind character who hopelessly believed in equality. Her younger brother Janus/Magus was damn cool too. Nuff said. It also drove me nuts that you couldn't save her at all. I always respected the hard work it takes to make and maintain a great gaming site. In this case I wanted to have fun and enjoy making a cute site for people who truly loved the game. My original plans, files and writing for a Schala site were kept in the back of my old hard drive's directories and text files since 1997. Yep, I love to squirrel away stuff for long periods of time. Only after I finished Chrono Cross and had many discussions with fanatic friends, did I get the energy to make the idea come to life in 2001. At that time there were only two other places for Schala worship, but one died out and one was semi-defunct. Schala, being one of my favorite characters of all time, in one of the best, and my most favorite games of all time really deserved this shrine. May the "dream team" r0x0r us forever. § back |
