§ Randomness  Just a bunch of things that come to mind while playing CT and CC, and a few minor explanations. I decided to make a section on them that will be updated whenever another one comes to mind. Schala's Amulet In the first scene with Schala and Janus, she gives him an amulet to protect him. As far as I know this is nothing like her pendant. The Amulet is still on him when he's Magus, and it protects the bearer's status in battle. It's called サラのおまもり (Sara's Amulet) in the Japanese version. Pendant Colors The color seems to warp from being "made of red rock" to blue in the anime closeups to greenish in the sprites. When Kid has it, it's described as "star colored". My guess is that when the pendant isn't powered up, it's blue, and when it is powered up, it's red. The greenish color in the sprite of it, I guess is just a variant of blue. Star coloured also could just mean different colors, so it could also change color depending on how the light hits it. Kingdom of Guardia Apparently Zeal is replaced by Guardia at some point and Kings reign. I hate to think of timelines, because there are so many holes and such in both CT and CC. In 600 AD the 21st King of Guardia reigns, in 1000 AD the 33rd King of Guardia reigns. A slightly educated guess means the first King of Guardia reigned roughly around 1 AD. Mistranslations There's still debate over whether Schala and Janus are half-siblings. I personally think they're real siblings though. An NPC in Zeal mentions "The Guru Melchior says that Janus's power's surpase those of even Miss Schala. He must be using her and the queen to get to Lavos.". I think it was a mistranslation where "Janus" was supposed to be "The Prophet". Kid and Schala They're supposed to be clones but they're polar opposites in personality. Personality and speech habits are something gotten from how one was raised, but the fact remains they have obvious differences like eye color, and their hair. Schala Kid Zeal's design however has green-blue eyes. The pointed ears and magic abilities also aren't there, maybe that is related to being around Lavos. The Fated Hour In the End of Time, Gaspar mentions "One of you is close to someone who needs help... Find this person...fast." This seems to be about saving Schala, however it was a mistranslation. According to retranslations it should have said, "For matters concerning each time era, talk to your teammates." Schala and Lavos During the campfire scene, near the end of Chrono Trigger, everyone speaks of the possibility that the warp gates which brought them together were not only caused by Lavos. They ponder that a different energy was needed to make them, and possibly someone was trying to show them the way. That whoever did this must be strongly connected to Lavos, possibly trying to recreate reality or relive memories. They then brush it off as possibly no such person exists.. The Prophet Ever wondered how Janus/Magus rose to the status of Prophet in Zeal? It seems a few fans did and they created a playable ROM hack! Chrono Trigger: Prophet's Guile is a fairly lengthy add-on with dialogue that fits well with the original SNES translation. § back
