The man behind the wonderful character designs and artwork of Chrono Trigger, Akira is an entertainer. He enjoys playing with puns and satirizing human behavior. This is evident many times in Chrono Trigger. Like Marle who hates being a princess learns to enjoy it when visiting the past, and Ayla, a strong dominant woman is paired with Kino who is the opposite.
Akira started drawing in elementary school. He would draw what he wanted until his parents would get it for him, and he can still draw a horse perfectly. Now his works include the character designs for games like Tobal 2, and his manga includes Dr. Slump, Dragon Quest, Dragon Boy, and of course, Dragon Ball.
When he draws a character, he thinks up the personality first, then starts drawing the eyes, body and clothes. His own observations are used in land and cityscapes. He is sure to be remembered by manga and anime fans for a long time!
